Net Neutrality. What is it and why has it been the topic all over the news and social media lately?

Well, it's an Obama-era policy that was put in place to keep the internet--something we use many times a day, in a neutral state. The goal was to protect the internet in the way we protect utilities-- so that large corporations can't get out of hand over-charging consumers for service, or worse, charging for every little service. The development of the internet has changed the way people access information to learn and keeping that neutral seemed an important point for the Obama Administration.

The votes to overturn the policy were, as everything seems to be these days-- down the political lines. Democrats with 2 votes. Republicans with 3.

I'm not here to sway you one way or the other on the issue-- but I do believe THIS issue in particular is far from partisan...we all use the internet!

If you, like thousands of others, would like to voice your distaste for this appeal, you can this Friday the 22nd on the steps of the Idaho State Capitol Building. The event beings at 11:00 a.m.
