The free photo shoots happen this Saturday at Ann Morrison Park.

Local photographer Maria Thompson and her friend Amy organized the 20 minute mini shoots in honor of Down Syndrome Awareness Month. Maria's niece is a special needs teen and Amy's 3 year old son has from Down Syndrome, so not only are the sessions close to their hearts, they also understand the obstacles that people with disabilities try to overcome during a photoshoot.  They want to make disabled kids and their families feel comfortable in front of the camera.

Parents wishing to book a photo shoot for their little ones can sign-up online HERE.  Those reserving sessions can choose an individual, family or individual with service pet sessions and will receive five beautifully edited photos to treasure for the years to come.  There will even be a make-up artist on site to help get any girls who book a session dolled up!

Sessions are available before and after the Buddy Walk going on just down the greenbelt at Julia Davis Park.  They are totally free, but there is a suggested donation of $5 per person that the photographers will donate to the Treasure Valley Down Syndrome Association.
