You may have heard some time ago that a giant sequoia tree, Idaho's oldest, would be moved to make space for an expansion at St. Luke's Hospital downtown. With Boise Music Festival over this past weekend, that's all that my mind was focused on and I didn't even realize--the tree got moved!

KTVB covered the move, which took several hours. After month of preparing to tree to be moved, the 10-story-tall, 105-year old tree was moved away from St. Luke's and into Fort Boise Park. The tree weighed 800,000 pounds.

While moving a tree may seem like a boring thing, the process was actually fascinating. You can read about all the steps that were taken and see some great photos of the move, as well as a time lapse, HERE.
