The Ponderosa Elementary School in the 2900 block of North Naomi Avenue in North Meridian was under lockdown this morning just after 9 o'clock.

The most important thing to know is that everyone is o.k.  This was a case of better safe than sorry.  A false alarm accidentally tripped which set off a chain reaction of security measures to be put in motion.

School hadn't kicked off yet so the teachers calmly escorted all the students off campus while the alarm was being investigated.  Police and Paramedics were notified and searched the entire school before allowing anyone in.  It took about one hour before students were allowed back on to campus and into their classrooms.
