So bossman Kekeluv, Lucky Tha DJ and my little sister Caitlin all called me out in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.  I was so happy to get chilly for something close to my heart.

I'll be honest, I knew very, very little about ALS or Lou Gehrig's disease before I got an invite to like the "Chip In For Chris" Facebook page a few months ago.  I remember my heart dropping into the pit of my stomach when I realized that the Chris the page was for was for one of my favorite high school teachers, Christine Terlesky.

Last year after experiencing some twitches and unexpected falls, Mrs. Terlesky was diagnosed with ALS.  On the page to support her they describe the battle against ALS as one you go at alone, waiting to watch each part of your body give up on you piece by piece while still maintaining your mental capacity to watch it happen.  There is no cure for this terminal illness and ALS patients are often told to "enjoy the time they have left."  I started sobbing at my desk when I read that.

Mrs. Terlesky and her family are some of the strongest willed fighters I've ever met.  I'm heart broken to see this disease affect Mrs. T, her husband and their three beautiful kids and to force an incredibly inspiring teacher/coach to give up what she loves doing at the age of 41.  I'm honored to take this challenge and make a donation to ALS research in Mrs. Terlesky's name.

That said: Shirley Leffler from Cowgirls in Kuna, Rocci Johnson from Humpin' Hannah's, Don Day from KTVB and my friends Matt Spatz and Nick Andrews back in Ohio, you're next!  This one is for you Mrs. Terlesky! Keep fighting!
