Did you decide to stay home with the fam and enjoy Thanksgiving? Didn’t want to face the crowds on Black Friday?  We’re glad you waited to do your shopping!

Because Saturday is what's known as Small Business Saturday! Celebrated for the first time in 2010, the "holiday" is meant to support locally run businesses following Black Friday (where many shop big box retailers) and prior to Cyber Monday (focusing on on finding deals online.) Small Business Saturday was originally put together and promoted by American Express, but has been embraced by small business in America every year since it's first celebration!

So where are you shopping small int the Treasure Valley?  Here's three of my favorite small businesses that I'm happy to support not just on Small Business Saturday, but every day!

    Fleet Feet Sports

    3573 E Longwing, Meridian

Located at The Village at Meridian, Fleet Feet Sports is locally owned by husband and wife, Brandon and Kimberly Frank.  The store has given back to the community more times than I can actually count.  They've done everything from helping to size/donate shoes to every student at Meridian Elementary through a partnership with a local shirt to replace a local marathoner's shoes when they were stolen in a car burglary.  They've also made it a mission to get everyone in the Treasure Valley to start running/walking through their training programs and partnership with Team Run Boise! Those programs have connected people who went from complete strangers to life long friends!

For Small Business Saturday, Fleet Feed is celebrating a "Fitnatic Weekend."  Buy their 2017 Fitnatic duffel bag for $15 and any of the apparel you can fit in it is 25% Off! They also have specials on the coolest headphones on the market, Aftershokz Trekz ($80,) discounts on Garmin fitness units, 20% off Superfeet insoles, discounts on Balega socks and a show blowout with up to 60% off some brands/models!

    Zero Six Coffee Fix

    404 E Parkcenter, Boise

It was by complete chance that I walked into this Southeast Boise coffee shop in 2016 and I've gone there almost every day since! Zero Six (named after the zip code in which its located) won me over after just two visits, where Jeanie and her team quickly learned my name and my favorite drink! They really take the time to get to know each of their customers and are genuinely interested in each one of their lives.  The locally owned coffee shop also has a really eclectic vibe too it! While you're standing in line you'll see all kinds of trinkets from local artists, jewelers and crafters available for purchase.  More often than not, you'll also be treated to artwork from the students at SAGE International School, located across the street from the shop!

Jeanie gave her team a break to spend time with friends and family on Thanksgiving and Black Friday, but they'll be back in in full force for Small Business Saturday! If you haven't been in before, stop by and check it out! Not sure what to order? Try my favorite - a Pumpkin Spice Apple Chai-der!

    Lost Grove Brewing

    1026 S La Pointe, Boise

I'm so happy our Christmas Wish partnership with Lost Grove brought me into the Treasure Valley's newest brewery! As a seven time finisher of the World Beer Tour, I really enjoy a good local craft beer and have visited most of the tap rooms in the Treasure Valley, but there's something very special about the one at Lost Grove.

When you go in, you'll notice there are know televisions showing the day's biggest football game or the latest news.  That's by design.  Lost Grove really wants their customers to spend time interacting with each other free of life's distractions.  They've even got a small selection of board games near the front window that you can borrow to play with your friends when you enjoy a pint of their beer or one of your favorite local wines, hard ciders or kombucha!

If shopping's got you stressed out, stop by Lost Grove this weekend to enjoy a pint and relax!
