Newly crowned Miss Idaho, Sierra Sandison's bikini photo from the pageant where she won the crown is going viral across the country...but not for the reason you think!

Sure, Sierra's got a rockin' body in the snapshot, but the reason her photo has garnered so many likes, shares and retweets over the weekend is a little beeper like device you see on her hip.  That device is actually an insulin pump that Sierra uses to regulate her Type 1 Diabetes.  It automatically gives her the insulin she needs to keep her blood sugar on an even keel without the need for shots.

When she was diagnosed in 2012, Sierra said her disease turned her world upside down.  She tried to ignore it, hoping it would just go away.  Instead that just made her ill, grumpy and tired from low blood sugar.  She decided to start competing in pageants and used Miss America 1999 Nicole Johnson's story as her motivation.  Johnson was the last contestant to wear an insulin pump on stage during the prestigious pageant.

On her Instagram page Miss Idaho says she hopes her photo serves as a message that young women don't need to measure up to beauty standards set by the media.  She goes on to say that any obstacles, challenges or trials you experience (like Diabetes) do not make you any less beautiful.  Check out the photo that's spawned the new hashtag, #showmeyourpump and what Sierra had to say about it on Good Morning America.
