Christmas may still be weeks away, but the Treasure Valley has a reason to get in the Christmas spirit a bit early!

The 80-foot Engelmann Spruce that will stand on the West Lawn at the U.S. Capitol building this December was harvested in McCall earlier this week.  Now it's preparing for its almost 4,000 mile trip across the country to Washington DC!

The tree will stop in nearly 25 towns (many of which are in Idaho) on it's way to DC and Idahoans will have a chance to stop for selfies with the soon to be famous tree!

It rolls through Boise this weekend if you'd like a once in a lifetime photo op!

Capitol Christmas Tree Stops

  • Sunday, November 6th: Cabela's, 8109 West Franklin Rd, Boise 4-6 p.m.
  • Monday, November 7th: Idaho State Capitol, 700 W Jefferson St, Boise 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.

The tree will be lit in DC in early December with help from St Mary's Catholic School's Isabella Gerard.
