They are doing everything right when it comes to being a business in the Treasure Valley. Barrel 55, a new restaurant in Meridian is serving local food and local craft brews.

Remember where On the Border on Eagle Road was? There's a new place called Barrel 55  The restaurant is focusing on bringing "a local concept to corporate row" says the owner Cliff Rogers. He's the same guy who took over Barrelhouse from Crooked Fence Brewing Co late last year.

The menu looks amazing (pics here). The Barrel 55 executive chef Gavin Haley uses a lot of locally produced food on his seasonal menus.

Here's an idea of what you can order:

  • Hard Cider Habanero Clams
  • Bison Finger Steaks
  • Maple-Bacon Peanuts

As far as the main menu goes, look for higher end burgers (with all the good stuff), sandwiches and big salads as well as prime rib, salmon and bison short ribs.

Are you hungry now?

The grand opening is July 30!
