It's fair to say that water slides and waterparks, in general, are the last things on the minds of Idahoans these days.  A little sunshine in the forecast certainly has us wishing that it was summer--but the reality is that warm temperatures and swimming under the sun are still months away.

While we await the arrival of an Idaho summer, many water enthusiasts are counting down the days until our state's newest addition of summer fun is open for business.

This new 'Water Coaster' is going to be the longest dueling water coaster in the entire United States!

Here's a look at what's next for Idaho's water slide game!

Do you think you'll make the visit to Silverwood in North Idaho to zip down this monster!?

The entire expansion is going to take up about 4-acres, which is huge. The project and addition, which consist mostly of this massive, nationally recognized water slide, is being titled "Emerald Forest".

When it comes to this big slide-you can expect to be speeding along a slide that is 925 feet in length! The ride includes going through three "flying saucers", going up four hills, and a final splash that goes down an unmatched slope.

In a recent release from the water park, their excitement was clear:

With this water coaster having two lanes, not only will you be able to race against your friends, but we are setting up a truly unique time trials experience where you will be able to pick your prey and race down the slide like an eagle in pursuit of its prey. If you get to the bottom in the specified time, you will have "caught" your prey. If you don't make it in time, the prey will have got away. We are excited to finally bring a water coaster to the Pacific Northwest and give our guests the opportunity to experience one of these amazing attractions.

This Old Idaho Waterpark Looks Like a Dystopian Future

When Boise's Wild Waters waterpark closed to make way for the Flying Y, the abandoned park didn't sit there very long. The one in Coeur d'Alene? That's a different story. It closed for "renovations" in 2009 but never reopened. It sat there decaying until it was finally demolished in 2018. YouTuber "adamthewoo" explored the park and shot video of it in 2016. These are some of the best images from that video!
