Leaving your car downtown after a night with friends doesn't mean that you have to struggle your way up the next morning to throw a couple of quarters in the parking meter before 8:00 a.m. You can do it from the comfort of your bed - hungover.

If you have known an app could pay for my parking this whole time, how are we not hanging out together? I need to know these things!

If you are like me and carry zero cash almost all the time, putting change into a parking meter is impossible. I have actually looked at the ground around the meter to see if I had any change. It's like routine. I press the button for the free 20 minutes (thank you city of Boise) and then I look around for a shiny coin tucked against the curb and the road. I don't know why I do this because 100% of the time I find nothing. Seriously, I've never found change. Yet still I look.

I was making my way to the Owyhee to drop something off to Janice at Filmfort and set the timer on my phone. I had 20 minutes. I texted J letting her know that I couldn't stick around until I got change. She asked for my license plate number. Super odd, right? Did I question? Nah. I gave it to her. Just like that, I had parking paid for until 6:00 p.m. when it's free.

Was this magic?

Nope. She's quicker than I am and had everything set up.

You just download the Parkmobile app, enter your information (including your license plate number), find your zone (look at the meter - it will tell you) and pay with the card you put on file.

This is one of the best things I have been introduced to in a long time. It seems like such a small thing, I know. Isn't your life changed? Try it when you to to happy hour with friends this week.

Sorry if this was your excuse to get out of meeting with someone. I figure the risk is worth the reward.
