Hot dogs. Outdoor concerts. Peeing in the pool.

Two of these won't ruin your genes or possibly give you cancer.

Scientists at the University of South Carolina have been researching the effects peeing in the pool can have on humans, because of course they have. But the results are actually pretty disturbing.

The chemicals we use to clean pools can become hazardous when combined with sweat and/or urine. When you inhale too many of the resulting fumes, it can really do damage to your system. The scientists say that you'd have to spend a LOT of time in pools to do serious damage to your genes, but it is possible.

They say that using pools in moderation (and ceasing to urinate in them) should keep you safe from harm this summer.
