Boise has grown a lot since I've been gone. New buildings, businesses and restaurants everywhere. This fact play's well for one of my favorite soups of all time. Vietnamese Pho.

Join me as I search Boise for the best bowl of Pho. I'll be critiquing each restaurant on three things. The Vibe of the restaurant, The Pho itself and the price of the bowl.

My second stop Pho Nouveau, downtown Boise.

The Vibe

It was lunchtime on a brisk fall day in Boise. I met up with one of my groomsmen John for some Pho. The restaurant was definitely busy, with a line reaching outside. This is one of the more established Pho restaurants in Boise. It was nice, with subtle Vietnamese decor placed around the establishment. I've been to places in Boise that have more of a modern "trendy" or open vibe.  Consider the location (Downtown Boise) added to the overall vibe.

The Pho

PDG or Pretty Damn Good! I had the Chicken Pho. It tasted great. The broth was very seasoned. The chicken was a tad bland but not distasteful. And of course my bowl came with a hefty serving of Thai Basil. I felt my noodles were a tad bit under-cooked but that could just be my pallet.

Out Of 5 Bowls Of Noodles

The Price

The price was fair.  Lunch for two with a Thai Ice Tea set me back $26

4 out of 5 Bowls of Noodles.

Final Thoughts:

Overall Pho Nouveau was good. I've dine there in the past and have been more impressed.
