A fire that has been burning for 10 days is now taking a little under 1,000 people to help fight the blaze taking over 13,000 acres.

KTVB had the fire at 9,400 acres just yesterday. The fire, which started on July 18, is growing quickly due to high temperatures and windy conditions. Crews are trying to contain the fire but safety is their #1 concern.

Boise National Forest officials said full containment of the fire is estimated to be October 5. Yes, you read that right.

Currently, Highway 21 is closed between mile marker 48 and mile marker 72.5.
