Popular Downtown Boise Lunch Destination Calls it Quits

...at least for now.

Saturday afternoon, my friend and I made the journey out to New Plymouth to run the 5K honoring the memory of Robert Manwill.  It was an incredibly inspiring morning, but man...that drive is long! On the way home, I brought up the ballot for the Boise Weekly's "Best of Boise" contest and to kill time, we voted on everything together.

When we got to the restaurant categories, Jenny's Lunch Line was the up for an award in a category and she told me to pick them.  That's when I looked at her and said "you know they closed, right?" She stared at me blankly and said "What?! When?!"

Last week. A sign reading "Jenny's will be closed for a much-needed overhaul! Stay tuned!" popped up in the window on Friday, April 27.  The closing happened without warning.   According to our friend Don at BoiseDev, the couple that had been operating Jenny's Lunch Line tried to purchase the business but their deal with the owner fell through.

The soup, sandwich and salad destination is reportedly still for sale but will remain closed until there's a buyer.
