The M&M McFlurry is a national treasure that is facing extinction.

Somebody call Nicolas Cage!

It's not quite as bad as it sounds though. McDonald's has no plans to remove the McFlurry from their menu. However, the good people at Mars (who make M&Ms) are planning on removing the chocolaty treat from fast food restaurants. That means no more McFlurry, no more Burger King Snickers Pie, and no more M&M Blizzard from Dairy Queen.

Word on the street is Mars is undergoing an image overhaul which includes putting the health of their customers at the forefront. This from the same company who was the first to put caloric content on their packaging back in 2008.

We'll miss you M&M McFlurry. May you forever be fueling our dad bods up in heaven.
