We've heard of the blue moon. We've seen the eerie red harvest moon.  We've even been treated to a super moon this year.  But what's this black moon thing all about?

According to KTVB, tonight will be the first black moon since March of 2014.  The black moon is the opposite of a blue moon.  It's the second new moon in a single calendar month.

So how do you see the black moon?  Well, I hate to be the barer of bad news, but you won't.  It's practically invisible since the dark side of the moon is what is facing Earth.

The celestial occurrence begins at 6:11 in Boise this evening.
