Oh, the office Christmas Party.  A chance to kick back and relax with the people you spend the majority of your time with...or a chance to embarrass yourself in front of your co-workers.  Here's a list of why you should SKIP the office party this year and we want YOU to add to it!

It'll Keep You Away From Office Gossip

When the alcohol starts flowing, gums start flapping and the next thing you know you're confessing your sins to your colleagues.  Not a smart move. It's way too easy to get caught up in the he said, she said conversations while having a good night with your co-workers.  But let's be honest, when was the last time office gossip and alcohol ever turned out to end well?  It's best to stay away.

You Won't Drink Too Much

Say your company has an open bar party, right?  That could lead to some interesting interesting after math for the employees that are too busy enjoying the free booze, free food and being merry to realize that their superiors are in the room.  Chances are you'll still be held accountable for your actions the next week.

You Don't Have To Worry About What To Wear

Your company party isn't the place to wear your LBD, the old suit that you normally only keep for funerals and weddings or the goofy Christmas sweater you wore to several theme parties this year.  Skip the party and you won't have to worry about being over/under dressed for the big office party.

You Don't Have To Worry About A Host/Hostess Gift

It's customary to thank the person hosting the party for their hospitality with a gift.  Skip the party and you don't have to worry about what to get the GM/VP/CEO of your company when you really know nothing at all about their lives.

You Won't Have To Kill Your Holiday Diet

When put in a room of delicious fried appetizers and free desserts, it can be really hard to control the temptation and stuff your face.  Avoid the party, avoid the calories, avoid extra hours in the gym.

That's 5 reasons to avoid the party...what would you add to our list?
