Mother Nature apparently wants all the attention on herself this Mother's Day weekend because she's forcing Roaring Springs to push back their opening weekend.

The water park was originally supposed to open for weekends tomorrow, but with a predicted high of 57 and rain in the forecast it's not quite the weather they were hoping for.  Instead, they plan to open next Saturday, May 17th and will be open on weekends from 11 AM - 7 PM.  That is of course, weather permitting.  Roaring Springs will open seven days a week beginning May 24th.

This season brings the grand opening of Corkscrew Cavern, the first 360º looping water slide in the Northwest.  It's launch area stands on the same tower as last year's new slide, the Cliffhanger.  That one scared the crap out of me last year, but I'm down to try all the slides at least once so I think I'll muster up the courage to try the new slide at least once.
