Santa’s Real Life Reindeer Lives in Boise; Here’s How to Visit Her

I looked everywhere for my pictures of it from last December, but couldn't find it anywhere!  I really did meet Santa's reindeer, Prancer!

Last December during our in studio KISSmas party, we enjoyed being comfy in our onesies, a few holiday drinks from The Olympic Venue and then stumbled across a reindeer in the hallway of the radio station.  I remember saying, where did this come from and one of our co-workers said without missing a beat "the cemetery."  They looked at me like I was supposed to know that!

Turns out it is a pretty well known fact that Cloverdale Cemetery in Boise has owned reindeer for several decades.  According to Channel 2, that's pretty impressive because there's only about 1,500 living reindeer in the contiguous 48 states. The one living at the cemetery now is named Prancer and she's the very reindeer we met in the hallway last year!

Prancer's very busy this time of year, but if you'd like to take your kiddos to meet her she'll be at the Idaho Botanical Garden's Winter Garden aGlow on December 9th, 11th, 12th, 16th, 17th, 18th, 19th, 22nd, 23rd and Christmas Eve.  Of course, when she's not out spreading holiday cheer around the Treasure Valley, you're able to visit her at the cemetery as well!
