My heart hurts for this mother. "Why you kill my baby?" is the question the mother of a dead toddler screamed as the court concluded. It jumped out at me as I read the story posted earlier today on KTVB. It's been a few weeks since the horrific stabbing at the Wylie Street Station apartments and for most of us live as returned to normal. The only remembrances that something even happened are the weathered signs and wilted flowers that adorn the entrance to the complex. A showing of support that fades as each day passes.

On June 30th, LA resident Timmy Kinner showed up to the apartment complex he had been temporarily living at and attacked a birthday party. Among the victims was three-year-old Ruya Kadir's who lost her life on while being airlifted to Salt Lake City.

According to KTVB, Judge Nancy Baskin read some of the injuries sustained by the victims.

A 2-year-old girl with a lacerated liver, stomach, and pancreas.

A 7-year-old boy with a slash across his face and knocked-out teeth

One woman with a broken jaw and punctured lung. Another with a stab wound to her spinal cord.

I still have no words for this senseless act of violence, and that's ok. Nothing I could say would matter. I can't even imagine the rage, sorry, despair if my three-year-old was taken from me. But I do want to ask the question.

Should Timmy Kinner face the death penalty for the murder of three-year-old Ruya Kadir?'
