Wonder why #MerryChristmasStarbucks has been trending all weekend? It all has to do with their red holiday cups!

Normally on November 1st, the internet explodes with the joyous news that the holiday cups are back at Starbucks, but this year it was a little different.  Instead of decorating the famous red cups with poinsettias, ornaments or mittens, the cups this year are plain red.  Some Christians like pastor Joshua Feuerstein think it's Starbucks way of "removing Christmas from their cups because they hate Jesus."

Feuerstein is encouraging Christians to tell their barista that their first name is "Merry Christmas" so they are forced to write Christmas on the cups.  He then wants people to post their selfies with the cup on Twitter and Instagram to support "the movement."  When asked for comment Starbucks told E! News the cup is meant to be a "blank canvas" that encourages "customers to tell their Christmas stories in their own way."
