I'm almost as upset about this as I was about the MAJOR death in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Disney announced that it's pushing the next movie in the Star Wars saga from opening in May 2017 to December 15, 2017.  The next episode is written and directed by Rian Johnson.  Johnson is known for his work on the movie Looper and also directed the Ozymandias episode of Breaking Bad that Aaron Paul debuted at the Egyptian in Boise before it aired on AMC.

The delay allows Disney about a year separation between Episode VIII and the first ever live action Star Wars spinoff, Rouge One, that comes out in December of this year.
