As I rolled up to the Starbucks on the corner of Glenwood and Chinden, I couldn't help but notice a frenzy of parked trucks and cars in the parking lot. Not that this is unusual for an early morning Starbucks run, but it definitely seemed busier than normal. I was clearly in a state of needing caffiene because if I had looked a bit closer, I would have seen earlier on that there were an abundance of trucks and cars decked out with the Starbucks famous logo. Rolling up to place my order, I finally noticed something was quite different. The barista who usually takes our payment at the window was instead standing outside the building, running back and forth between a food truck to swipe our cards and hand out orders. As I pulled up to the barista (she was wrapped in a winter coat and gloves) I asked her what was happening. "Remodel." She said. A remodel! And Starbucks is staying open for it! I've never seen a makeshift coffee setup like this while the main coffee bar undergoes construction. I could tell the barista was cold and I thanked her profusely. I felt a tinge of guilt taking my hot coffee. This brings me to my next thought: if your place of business decided to shut down for a remodel, but this caused you to have to work outside in the cold, would you be ok with it?
