One of Boise's ECHL team's favorite traditions is back this weekend!

The Idaho Steelheads will host their 20th annual “Teddy Bear Toss” during their game against the Tulsa Oilers on Saturday, December 2nd at 7:10 p.m.

That means fans should bring a plush, unbreakable toy to the game with them. When the Steelies score their first goal, fans throw those stuffed animals on the ice and all of the toys are donated to the United States Marine Corps “Toys for Tots” campaign. The tradition helps make sure that kids in need will find something under the tree on Christmas morning.

Have a crazy busy weekend or don't want to fight holiday shoppers for a parking spot at Walmart, Fred Meyer, etc? The Idaho Steelheads Booster Club has you covered.  They'll be selling plush toys in the Century Link Arena lobby before the game.

The Steelies hope that this will be another record setting year.  The team says that 2016 was the most successful Teddy Bear Toss yet, collecting over 5,800 toys and more than $4,400 in cash donations.

If you don't want to chance the rain when the Broncos face the Fresno Bulldogs in the Mountain West Championship game at Albertsons Stadium on Saturday night, this is another great way to enjoy a sporting event in Downtown Boise.  It's always been my favorite night of the season!
