Have you ever visited a winery? Did you know that Idaho has some of the best-tasting wineries right here in the Treasure Valley? I wanted to share my Sunday visit out in Nampa that I think you might really enjoy.

I want to start by saying that this isn't an advertisement and nobody is paying me for this feature. My wife and son are visiting family this weekend and I decided to take a drive out to one of my favorite wineries, Ste Chapelle in Nampa.

Why am I writing about wine? I want everyone to understand I don't know a thing about wines. I barely get through a glass of red wine and white wines taste flat to me. I'm definitely NOT any type of specialist on wines. That doesn't make me an idiot though. I would much rather hang out with a group of women drinking wine than a bunch of guys drinking beer. Hence, one of my first dates with my wife was out at that very winery in Nampa, Idaho.

Tastings: Most wineries have what they call "tastings" as options to sample their wines.

My vast knowledge of wine was from the movie, Sideways, starring Paul Giamatti as this depressed writer. This show follows Giamatti and co-star Thomas Haden Church around California on a wine tasting tour celebrating Churches engagement. This is a dry comedy, but VERY funny while learning a bit about wines. Sideways won an Academy Award and also starred our favorite doctor on Grey's Anatomy, Cristina Yang (Sandra Oh.)

Let's go from the Napa Valley to Nampa. Ste Chapelle is an inexpensive way to relax, have a few drinks, and enjoy the atmosphere. You taste 5 wines or sparkling wines of your choice for $5 or the pay $10 to sample 5 from their Reserved list. They will even let you keep the glass you drank from as a courtesy! Don't quote me on that, but I think you keep it 😀

I took a few pictures and will list the links. I was super impressed with the service and how personal the staff was. They were also having a part of their Summer Concert Series on the lawn which looked to be pretty entertaining. Check out the details here and I'm definitely giving it 💋💋💋💋 out of 5 kisses. You can't beat $5, free Ste Chapelle wine glass, and samples from 5 wines of your choice. This would make for a quic2-hourur date or lunch with the girls. It's about a 30-minute drive from the Eagle exit.

Have fun! I've attached a few photos below. I only took a couple because I just feel like a creeper in places like this snapping away.
