Idaho has more deaths by drowning each year than any other state. Quinn's Pond in Boise is a busy place in a busy area. It also unfortunately has its fair share of sad instances like this one.
Fourth of July weekend in the Treasure Valley normally revolves around water, whether it's floating the river or getting soaked at the We the People Liberty Day Parade.
With no signs of a Boise River Float season in sight and highs near 100º for the long 4th of July weekend, people are crossing their fingers that the E. coli levels in the ponds at Esther Simplot Park and Quinn's Pond start to fall soon.
High levels of E. coli were discovered in numerous bodies of water in Boise. If you think you've contracted the bacteria, you're going to want to do something about it.
With waters rising in parts of Eagle, Ann Morrison Park and other places bordering the Boise River, there's like a 90% chance that float season isn't happening in 2017. So it's no surprise that Boise's ponds and pools will be slammed this year!
