We've seen the official Fifty Shades of Grey "merch" on-line, in adult gift shops and catalogs...but we're a bit surprised to see that Target is jumping on board the world-wide phenomena.

When I go to Target I normally pick up some make-up, CD or something useless for my apartment that I probably don't need, but think is REALLY cool. I don't think I've ever gone into Target thinking I'm going to buy an "adult toy."  Didn't know that was an option until today!

Photos of Fifty Shades of Grey merchandise like "Yours and Mine Vibrating Silicone Rings" and "No Peeking Soft Twin Blindfold Sets" sitting on Target back end caps have started popping up in the Twittersphere.  Stores were supposed to put them in the adult health area (think tampons, pads, condoms, pregnancy tests etc) but as you can see in this photo, they ended up super close to the children's toothbrushes! (Wonder which khaki and red shirt wearing employee is going to lose their job over that!)

When questioned by Entertainment Weekly about the new products, Target responded

“Our stores are carrying a limited assortment of the merchandise. It’s worth noting that it is not exclusive to Target and we directed stores to place the display on a back cap (which means the back of an aisle, not the main aisle facing part) in the adult health area of the store.”

I'm no prude, but I am a bit surprised to see S&M themed products coming to a general merchandise shop!  They're also selling the rings, blindfolds and assorted lotions on their website as well.
