Teacher Appreciation Day Offers Up Discounts for Leaders Through the Weekend

Happy Teacher Appreciation Day! It's pretty lame that we only have one day for the people that train our kids for the future but we'll take it. Thanks to all those amazing teachers and we have some freebies for you to cash in on.

A big shout to Boise High's Rachel Ryden who is a phenomenal teacher and leads by example for her students. Rachel groups teachers and students to attend our child abuse prevention event each April for Cycle to Break the Cycle (Live for 175) and those kids make a difference.

National Teacher Appreciation should be a day off but who is that really benefitting right? I'm sure they would just have to make it up or add additional days to their year. When you think of how much time our teachers spend with our kids versus us - that might be kind of alarming. Teachers are on the front lines both good and bad. I hope we continue raising their salaries but in the meantime, here are a few discounts.

• Chipotle from 3 P.M. to close will be offering BOGO deals on bowls, salads or tacos. I believe it's the same on burritos.
• Chick-Fil-A wants you to download their app and take home a free chicken sandwich.
• McDonald's is offering a 6-piece McNuggets.
• Sonic is giving away the Route 44 drink or slushy with the app until May 31. You have to use the app to order and redeem your offer.
• Arby's offering free sandwich to faculty members with ID.
• Michael's is giving a 20% off entire purchase through Saturday.
