Did anyone look at the forecast for next week? Highs in the upper 30s, lows in the upper teens. That means good news for the area's ski resorts!

Mateo and I were so excited to see snow on the mountain as we were driving back into Downtown this morning.  Thanksgiving Day brought three new inches of snow to Bogus, but this year they're not as dependent on early season snow storms as they have been in years past.

According to KIVI-TV, Bogus now has two new snow guns to help make snow in the mountain. The new snow guns can be used anywhere on the mountain where there's access to water and power.  As long as temps are in the mid 20s, they're able to make man made snow to cover the slopes. Nate Shake, the director of mountain operations tells Channel 6 that the goal is to make snow 24/7 as long as conditions are right.

They need about another 18 inches of snow in order to open the mountain.  Right now, Bogus's projected opening date is just a little over two weeks away on Saturday, December 10th.
