The video is the brainchild of the Sandy Hook Promise. The non-profit is composed of parents of the victims of the Sandy Hook shooting.

This commercial is in no way intended to shock for shock value, but to point out how truly vulnerable kids in school can be if they don't know what to look for.

Co-founder Nicole Hockley:

When you don’t know what to look for, or can’t recognize what you are seeing, it can be easy to miss warning signs or dismiss them as unimportant. That can lead to tragic consequences. It is important for us to show youth and adults that they are not helpless in protecting their community from gun violence—these acts are preventable when you know the signs. Everyone has the power to intervene and get help. These actions can save lives.

Nicole lost her son in the Sandy Hook shooting, so these words hold weight with her and all the parents affected.

The only school shooting to occur in the Treasure Valley was at Notus Jr. Sr. High in 1999. There were no serious injuries.

Sandy Hook Promise says that 80% of people who commit a school shooting tell someone about it beforehand. That being said, please share this video. It literally could save lives.
