On Monday, I had opened an email asking if anyone from the Boise TSM market would like to attend a "Band Unveil/Record release party" at this place called The Wormhole on Orchard and Morris Hill. I had peep'd the band on Facebook, finding out they are a new band just getting going and pretty much building off a solo project. All was good, I was set to attend with a few friends... It's just getting to this place that was the issue for me I guess(haha).

I wish Apple Maps would have given me a general area this "band unveil" was taking place. Like "over by the Walgreens, off Orchard and Overland" or "next to the KFC, on these connecting streets".

Well, we took some street called Gekeler and some how I ended up on I-84. The closer we got to The Wormhole(venue), the more I realized that this place was like 5 minutes from where I live. Apple Maps took me 20 minutes out of my way, and I missed one exit(my fault). One of my buddies kept saying "Are we going to some house to listen to some dude's beats? What kind of music is this?

Finally we pull into the parking lot of what I think is called "The Wormhole"..it was basically an office building. The directions said 355 Orchard, Suite 101..getting out of the car and walking up to the complex I got comments like "Bro...suite 101, or.... Apartment 101"(This dude is still thinking we are going to listen to some local Boise rappers beats.

When you walk up to "The Wormhole" being that it's fall, the leaves were blowing a bit on the ground, there was on oddly lit street light at end of the parking lot... it almost felt like some type of crime was about to go down. I felt safe enough to proceed to find where Suite 101 was...This has so far sparked my interest. Creepy parking lot, dark building, and 1 dude outside smoking a cigarette.

We were still unsure where "Suite 101" was, so I had asked the one guy smoking a cigarette outside "Hey man, Suite 101?" He answered, "Right through that door dude!"...at this point I'm like ...WHAT THE HECK AM I GOING TO WALK INTO TO!

Was not expecting this...

Now growing up in a band, and playing in random places my whole life, this just seemed like an awesome concept. "Hey! Come check out this new project that I am working on, it's in a random office building off Orchard..and it's called The Wormhole. It was either going to be horrible, or pretty cool.

The Vacationist(band) were dressed in all white, had a projector banging off this white frame setup they had built to frame the band as they played. It's was almost like looking at a moving picture. The visual the band gave off was different than most of the other local bands I have seen. The music was different, kinda like a Pink Floyd meets The Neighborhood meets The Killers.

After The Vacationist(band) had finished their set (and like I said, I was super late..and caught the last 2 songs). I had the pleasure of chatting it up with these guys/and lady(who is a babe btw). Come to find out they have been a band for a month. Well, their drummer had said 3 weeks. Either way, I think these dudes were pretty rad! The front man, Cary Judd, gave me a bracelet which had their album on it, which I thought was brilliant marketing.
