#TheSW30: Day 10, What’s In a Name?

Day 10: Google the meaning of your name and talk about how it fits or doesn’t fit you.

I didn't need to Google it.  My grandmother used to give my sister and I these little prayer cards all the time and I distinctly remember the ones with my name on them always saying "Who is like God."  So, can you see why I'm having a challenge with today's challenge...

Quite frankly, I do so many things that probably disappoint God that I feel like unworthy of my name.  I make some really dumb decisions (usually with the help of liquid courage) that I feel he's probably looking down on me going "you're better than that."  I'm glad our higher power is so forgiving and sees the good in all of his children.  Here's where I can draw a parallel between me and the meaning of my name.  It may make me a bit naive, but I do think that everyone I meet is a genuinely a  good person and sometimes continue to think that after I've been burned once or twice by them.  Even though it's bit me with past "situationships" I don't think I can change that about myself and I don't want to.  Life's too short to be cynical and suspicious of people's motives from the get go.

Grandma's prayer cards also described me as:

• Emotional Spectrum: Peaceful on the outside, yet churning emotions on the inside. (I do that frequently.  That whole liquid courage thing is the only time I really let it out.)
• Personality: Her smile is contagious. (I've been told that quite a few times.)
• Relationships: Some of Michelle's friends are just like her. (I apologize to my mini-me who I see so much of my younger self in.)
• Travel and Leisure: While work is important to her, quiet time also has its place. (I actually mentioned that on Day 5.)
• Life's Opportunities:  A good educational background is the key to her success.  (My mentors at my old station prepared me well and I've learned so much from Keke over the past four years that I know this is true.)
