I saw D.W. Trantham on several evening newscasts last night and was intrigued by her story.  A classmate was pulled out school after South Junior High granted permission for D.W., who is transgender and was born a boy, to use the girls restroom.

D.W. lived a "stealth" lifestyle when she started school at South Junior High.  She dressed as a girl and didn't tell her fellow classmates that she was born a boy.  Inspired by the recent news coverage of bullying and fight for equal rights for the LGBT community she came out as transgender this year.  The school originally had her use the restroom in the nurses office, but D.W. and her father Tim fought for her right to use the girls room.  They won that fight last week.

Another student told her parents about the school's decision and they pulled her out of class at South Junior High.  The parents said that they wouldn't let their child use a restroom with a child of another gender at home, so they aren't ok with it at school.

Would you make the same decision as a parent?
