Hanging out by the lake, BBQing and camping are all staples of Memorial Day Weekend, but it's important to remember the real reason we get a three day weekend.

That reason? To take a day to remember and appreciate the men and women that gave the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country.  Here are 4 places to show your respect this Memorial Day.

  • Kohlerlawn Cemetery

    76 6th St N, Nampa

    Nampa is holding their Memorial Day Ceremony at Kohlerlawn Cemetery on Monday, May 30th at 10 AM.  The community is also welcome to take a Memorial Day Walking tour beginning in the Veteran's Loop before or after the ceremony.

  • Idaho State Veterans Cemetery

    10100 N Horseshoe Bend Rd, Garden City

    The Idaho Division of Veterans Services will hold their annual Memorial Day ceremony on Monday, May 30th starting at 10 AM.  This year the ceremony continues the 50th year remembrance of the Vietnam War and recognizes 2016 as Idaho's Year of Military Families.

  • Fort Boise

    1101 Mountain Cove Rd, Boise

    The Idaho Civil War Volunteers are holding their annual Civil War flag-raising ceremony, eulogy and gun salute at 1:15 PM on Monday, May 30th.

  • Morris Hill Cemetery

    317 N Latah, Boise

    The Idaho Civil War Volunteers will hold a Civil War flag-raising ceremony, eulogy and gun salute at Morris Hill Cemetery as well.  It takes place Monday, May 30th at the Veterans Monument at 12 PM.
