Try It This Weekend: Shamrock Shuffle at Ste. Chapelle

As a runner what are the best things about running a local road race?  Free schwag and free booze!  Get both this weekend at the Shamrock Shuffle at Ste. Chapelle!

Back in the day when I was serious about training for half and full marathons, I met Christie Ebenroth and her husband Wayne through a social network for runners called DailyMile.  They're some of my favorite people in the Boise running community and over the past few years put together their own racing event company, Final Kick Events.

I've run countless road races over the past sixteen years but the Treasure Valley is lucky to have a husband and wife duo like these two behind a series of them!  Most races charge you an arm and a leg for the photos they take of you during the race.  Final Kick Events uses volunteer photographers to give you a memento from the day for FREE.

Most races only give you a medal if you're one of the top three in your age group.  This year, Final Kick Events gives everyone who crosses the finish line a medal for their achievement.  Plus, Final Kick seems to have the Idaho Wine Region on lock as they host the Idaho Wine Run and this weekend's Shamrock Shuffle at Ste. Chapelle Winery...and those always involve some booze!

I'm crossing my fingers and toes that I have Saturday morning off so I can go run the Shamrock Shuffle 5K or 10K because the schwag is awesome!

From experience I can tell you if you like walking or running 5Ks this one will be one of the most fun you'll have in 2015! But you'll want to register soon! Once they've allotted all the medals per distance registration will be closed!
