Vandal Goes on a Spray Paint Rampage on the Boise Bench
If you drive through the bench wondering who "DD" is, or why everything is pink, the answer won't be a pleasant one.
KBOI reports that Boise Police are investigating a slew of vandalism incidents on the Bench, including garbage cans, vehicles, and structures on Columbus Street. They were all tagged with the letters DD in pink spray paint. Luckily, residents were (mostly) able to remove the paint due to the fact that it happened overnight and the paint was still fresh when it was discovered.
As of this writing, there are no leads as to who the culprit is. The investigation is ongoing as police determine the cost of the damages caused.
On a personal note, I've always said that if you're a "tagger," you're a jerk and a coward. You sneak around painting some crappy logo on property that doesn't belong to you to prove a point? I hope you get to etch all the logos you want on the inside of a jail cell. That being said, we owe a huge thanks to legit graffiti artists here in Boise for making both Freak Alley and Table Rock must-see sights for the art alone.
