Veterans Day in The Treasure Valley

It's Veterans Day! You may have work or school off today,  but take a moment to remember the real reason you get to celebrate the day...the brave men and women that put their lives on the line for our country.  If you want to show them your support here's a list of Veterans Day celebrations across the Treasure Valley and some places where veterans and active military can receive free service today.

Idaho State Veterans Home - 11 AM

Senator Mike Crapo's office and Idaho First Lady, Lori Otter will celebrate the "Spirit of Freedom, Idaho Veterans Service Awards" with speakers, buglers and bagpipers in the dining room of the Idaho State Veterans Home in Boise.

Boise State University - 11 - Noon

Boise State will hold a free event with a presentation by Command Chief Master Sgt. Carlo Fenicottero from the 124th Fighter Wing of the Idaho Air National Guard.  Parking at the stadium is free and there's a resorption ion the Stueckle Sky Center Skyline Room afterward.

CWI Boise and Nampa - 11 AM & 1 PM

The College of Western Idaho is having observance ceremonies today at each of their campuses with the CWI Choir, remarks from the school's president and refreshment.  The Boise one takes place at 11 AM and the Nampa one will be held at 1 PM.

FREEBIES for Veterans

Tucanos Brazilian Grille - Free churrasco meal and an additional 10% off for active military and veterans who bring their family along.  The promotion runs 11 AM - 10 PM.

Applebees - Free meal for veterans and active duty military at all Treasure Valley locations

On The Border - Free "Create Your Own Combo" for veterans and active duty military

Great Clips - Free haircut for veterans and active military.  If you don't have time to get your hair cut today, you can pick up a card for a free haircut before December 31st.

Free Oil Changes - Heritage Auto Repair, Garry's Autmotive and Maz-Tech are teaming up to offer veterans and active duty military free oil changes by appointment from 2:30 - 7 PM.
