The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Bureau of Reclamation are increasing flows through Boise from approximately 240 to 1,750 cubic-feet-per-second, beginning today

The flow on the Boise River through town will be increased 500 cubic-feet-per-second each day over three days starting on (Wed) March 21, 2018, and ending on (Fri) March 23, 2018.

This increase in flows is due the current snow-pack in the basin as well as good reservoir carryover from the 2017 season. These releases will help reduce the risk of flooding later in the spring, which can happen with rapidly melting snow and seasonal precipitation.

Currently, the Boise River reservoirs are at approximately 82 percent of capacity.
