Nominations for the 89th annual Academy Awards have been announced today (Jan. 24). Oscar winners Jennifer Hudson, Jason Reitman, Brie Larson, Emmanuel Lubezkhi and Ken Watanabe are among the announcers who revealed the nominees for each of the 24 categories.

The nominations were announced by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences via live stream across several digital platforms--and live on ABC's Good Morning America.

Moonlight, Hidden Figures and Fences landed Best Picture nominations; with actors Octavia Spencer, Denzel Washington, Mahershala Ali, Naomie Harris and Viola Davis among the contenders for acting categories. La La Land and Manchester by the Sea have also generated tremendous pre-Oscar buzz, as have Ryan Gosling (La La Land), Natalie Portman (Jackie) and Jake Gyllenhaal (Nocturnal Animals.)
