On Sunday, we'll be joining the Women's and Children's Alliance to help kick off Domestic Violence Awareness Month in the Treasure Valley at the SueB 5K.  The WCA released some powerful videos in preparation for the event.

The memorial run honors the memory of Susan Elaine Brubaker Newby, who died in a mysterious horseback riding accident.  After her death, Sue's friends and sister got together and realized that she'd been in an abusive marriage.  Sue was always active, happy and outgoing so the abuse came as a shock to her friends and family.  She was proof that abuse doesn't have a type and can happen to anyone.

That's the message the WCA hopes to spread with these short videos preparing for Domestic Violence Awareness Month.  If just one abuse victim or those around them hear this message, it could save a life.

Why do we have The WCA's SueB 5K Walk/Run each year? Hear from SueB's dear friend, Teresa to find out more.
