Hot temperatures in the Treasure Valley usually mean multiplied mosquito populations.  Today, however, health officials are warning the public of West Nile Virus, which has been found in positively tested mosquitos in Canyon and Payette Counties. Officials say that West Nile Virus has been present in our area since 2004 and while less than 1 percent of those infected face serious side effects, it's not a risk worth taking.
