It's Cinco De Mayo time! We'll be at Café Olé Restaurant and Cantina this Saturday, May 5 for pretty much most of the day. More on that in a few minutes?

I've been asking this question for years on the radio and I'll do it again this week. Listeners will argue on this one simple question, "What is Cinco De Mayo?" Let' the wrong explanations begin.

There is no doubt that when it comes to things on a calendar we often say, "what is that anyway?" Cinco De Mayo has been one of those days. For some reason, people think it's the day that Mexico got their Independence. You know, like the 4th of July 🇺🇸

Sidenote: We host the Cinco De Mayo party at Café Olé on Saturday at two times.

  • Café Olé on Eagle Road, 3284 East Pine Ave in Meridian.
  • 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
  • 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • 100 Boise Music Festival tickets to win for each party.

The answer is not what you might think. Why you would think that based on what Americans have do is beside me anyway. I went to my Latina friend, Ziz from WOW Country 104.3. She explains it perfectly! Make sure to remember this because there will be a quiz this week!
