Hailey native, Pfc. Bowe Bergdahl was charged with desertion and misbehavior before the enemy in connection with him walking away from his outpost in Afghanistan in 2009.  Here's a list of his possible punishments.

Bergdahl will now await a preliminary hearing to see whether or not he'll face a court marshal.  The preliminary hearing is similar to that of a grand jury inquiry for non-military members.

The desertion charge carries a maximum of 5 years in jail, while the misbehavior charge carries a life sentence.  He'll likely receive time served for his time with the Taliban and be dishonorable discharge.  Some people say it's not enough because soldiers lost their lives looking for Bowe.  What do you think the appropriate punishment for Bowe is?
