It's official, Coldplay will play halftime at the 50th anniversary of the Super Bowl!  The decision has spawned memes and hashtags like "halftime naptime" all over the internet.  Would you rather see someone else perform?

Personally, I'm not a Coldplay fan.  Chris Martin is an incredible musician, but Viva La Via was a song that if I never heard again in my life, I'd be totally ok with that.  In fact, the only one of their songs I've ever downloaded to listen to again was "A Sky Full Of Stars."  Come to find out later, it's probably because Avicii produced it and I love Avicii.  None of their songs that I know scream "sports anthems" to me.  Here are three artists I'd rather see perform.

Taylor Swift

Tell me what college football game you watched this year that the band DIDN'T play Shake It Off during this year.  Taylor's got a ton of up beat, energetic anthems on 1989 alone, let alone the rest of her catalog.

Maroon 5

There were rumors months ago that Maroon 5 was one of the top choices for this year's big game.  I've been working out to their music since "Songs About Jane" came out so I could totally see them killing the halftime show.  Plus, if you wanted to throw a retro artist in as a surprise, why not bring the Rolling Stones out during "Moves Like Jagger?"

Foo Fighters

This might seem like an out of left field pick from me, but Dave Grohl is the man!  How many musicians break their leg, finish the show and then is back performing from a metal throne just days later?  I probably don't know their catalog as well as most fans, but their "In Your Honor" album was my main running soundtrack in 2006!
