Why I love St. Patricks Day

Being a Guatemalan Jew there shouldn't be any reason to love this holiday as much as I do. St. Patricks Day is easily in my top 3 holidays for the year and I will tell you why.

1. Green Beer: Drinking is fun, social, relaxing and if you're going to do it might as well throw some food coloring in it and make it special. Irish people are known for their intake of booze and there is no other way to have a drinking party other than to have it on one of their most beloved and cherished holidays.

2. Heritage: Irish people are some of the proudest people you will ever meet. There is something about their trials and tribulations that has made the Irish people and their descendents incredibly proud people. I love sharing in their festivities for their history and their pride.

3. Music: As I posted in an earlier blog about me, I am a lover of music and Irish/Celtic music is no exception. I love the sound of Irish music, and going back their heritage, its extremely prevalent in their music. There is so much character in their lyrics and sounds that there is no way you can't like it. And Bagpipes are pretty sick. Enough said.
