Body Found in Boise Canal

Police are investigating the death of a woman who's body was found in the New York Canal.

UPDATE 4:46 p.m.: The coroner has confirmed that the woman found in the canal was Melissa Mariscal who has been missing over a week.  They believe Mariscal did die in the canal and are running further tests to determine the cause of death. They do not believe foul play was a factor.

According to KTVB, a call reporting a body in the canal near Cole and Amity came in on Friday morning around 8:45.

The body had drifted to an area near Maple Grove by the time investigators arrived. At this time it's unclear if foul play was involved in the woman's death.
