Don’t Forget: It’s Tax Day
Well, today's the day: Tax Day. It's that day that American's all across the country (including myself) complain about having to do all of that paperwork and potentially fork over hard earned money to the federal government. Hopefully, by now, you've already sent your taxes off and know exactly what's due...or better yet, what's to be expected. I'm that guy that files the second that I've got all of my paperwork aligned. I just like to get it out of the way.
For me, with taxes due to the federal government today and a WHOPPING $16 credit from the State of Idaho...no, it's not the best day ever--hopefully yours isn't too bad either.
If you haven't even considered taxes yet, it's ok--there's still time. There are plenty of free (and safe) online services that can walk you through your taxes easily and get them sent off in time by the end of the day today. I used HR Block's free online program for mine and it took all of about 20-minutes.
Just have too much going on to worry about cramming your taxes in today? Listen I get it--and so does the mighty, scary, IRS. You can file for an extension that will give you 6 more months to get all of the paperwork done. Check out that process, HERE.
Finally, I've saved the best for last: refunds. If you're expecting one, you can check the status on this HERE. File taxes to the State of Idaho? Check your status on that refund as well, HERE.
