Are Tracking Devices The New Scary Trend In Idaho?

Update (12/03): After speaking with Stacey the situation from earlier this week continues to worry and feels this was a targeted attack. Stacy is a single mom of three and is frustrated because people are speculating why this happened to her " I don’t have crazy exs I pay all my bills I’ve never had a late payment everyone tries to speculate bull but I keep to myself I pay my bills and this was def a targeted incident!"

After taking her car to the shop to help her find the tracking device they discovered this. 

Stacy then shared that yesterday (12/02) " when going to get gas I found my gas cap had been super glued on to make it so I couldn’t get any gas, almost as if to track me and when I run out or break down they would know where".

She also mentioned that the Nampa Police Department continues to be very helpful and are continuing to investigate the incident.

A scary situation yesterday (11/30) for a mom in Nampa after her iPhone alerted her that an AirTag had been traveling with her when she got home after dropping her kids off at school.

Don't know what an AirTag is?

Apple describes an AirTag as "a supereasy way to keep track of your stuff. Attach one to your keys. Put another in your backpack. and just like that, they're on your radar in Find My app, where you can also track down your Apple devices and keep up with friends and family". As you can see in the picture above that the AirTag is a very small device that can easily be attached to anything.

In a post on a Facebook community "Treasure Valley Crome & Community," she said she "called the police reported it, and used the feature to make the Air tag make noise to see if we could hear it, and sure enough, it's coming from underneath my car."

Someone placed a tracking device (an AirTag) on her car. After contacting the police in Nampa they advised her to take her car to a shop to see if they could locate this tracking device. Stacy continued to say on her Facebook post "they located it behind the wheel well on the driver side, rear tire in a hide a key, it was labeled number one and upon opening it it was wrapped up in plastic bags".
