Fire Station 13's move to State and Bogart Lane is an exciting development for the communities of Northwest Boise. When the deal was solidified back in 2021, Fire Chief Mark Niemeyer was thrilled.

“This location off Bogart is the solution we have been looking for in Northwest Boise.  It is ideally situated to achieve the best fire coverage for our Northwest community while collaborating with our partner agencies to provide an effective and efficient response." —Fire Chief Mark Niemeyer.

Additional benefits that spring from the relocation Fire Station 13 include:

  • increased response coverage in the Northwest that will assist firemen in their goal of responding to local emergencies within a five-minute window
  • Fire Station 16 is just 1.5 miles away from Bogart Lane
  • Bogart Lane boasts optimal availability due to its lower traffic volume

Today, the Boise Fire Department proudly serves and safeguards a population of more than 200,000 residents. Working in close partnership with nearby fire departments and rural fire districts, the Boise Fire Department responds to fires and emergencies throughout Ada County. With respect to Idaho's rapid population growth over the last several years, the Boise City Council agrees the Treasure Valley requires a strong fire department more than ever before. Construction for the $1.1 million-dollar project funded by impact fees is expected to begin in 2023.

In celebration of the Fire Station 13's move to State and Bogart Lane, the Boise City Council along with the Boise Fire District are welcoming locals to participate in the new station's design process. For more information, visit the City of Boise.
